This office offers two programs especially for family-owned businesses:
  • The Penley Forum - focuses on businesses generating more than $5 million and employing more than 20 people.
  • The Shapiro Forum - focuses on businesses generating between $1 million and $5 million and typically employing less than 20 people.
  • These Forums are part of the Outreach Program. The Business Forum Office works mostly with family businesses that have been established for a number of generations, however, increasingly these businesses are seeing women family members take control of the family business. This means that the Forum is working with more and more women through their business education programs and their Leadership Development Program. The Forum does not directly offer funding to businesses; however, it does have sponsors to whom it could refer individuals with funding questions.
