Below are listed funding opportunities reserved especially for female students. A good reference book is "The Directory of Financial Aids for Women, 1997-1999," available in many public libraries and at the CSW office.

AGC Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors (renewable scholarships $2,000/yr. up to a maximum of $8,000) planning to enroll/enrolled in a four or five year ABET of ACCE- accredited construction or civil engineer degree program. Deadline postmarked November 1st to be considered.

Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship Trust
This fund provides annual scholarships for $2000-$5000 to non-traditional students interested in pursuing careers in the health-care field. Applicants must have completed at least one semester of college study.

American Association of University Women Educational Foundation
American Fellowships support women doctoral candidates completing dissertations and scholars seeking funds for postdoctoral research leave or for preparing completed research for publication.
Career Development Grants provide seed money to individual women who hold a bachelor's degree and who are preparing to advance their careers, change careers, or re-enter the workforce.
Eleanor Roosevelt Teacher Fellowships professional development opportunities for women public school teachers; improve girls' learning opportunities, especially in math, science, and technology; and promote equity and long-term change in classrooms, schools, and school systems.
International Fellowships are awarded for full-time graduate or postgraduate study or research to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Selected Professions Fellowships are awarded to women who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who intend to pursue a full-time course of study during the fellowship in designated programs in which women have been traditionally underrepresented.

Case Strategy Scholarship Fund
Administered through the NH Charitable Fund, the scholarship assists a young woman who comes from, and whose parents live in, New Hampshire seacoast communities and who will be pursuing further study at a four-year college or university.

Coca-Cola Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation
Students attending two-year colleges and technical institutions may apply for the Coca-Cola Two Year College Scholarship, which offers $1000 to students attending two-year institutions with a 2.5 GPA and 100 hours of community service in the past 12 months. Applications are processed and filed through participating schools, so contact the financial aid officer of the two-year of technical institution of interest to you.

Construct My Future scholarship for high school seniors planning on attending post-secondary programs in any construction industry related field.

FPEF
Fluid Power Educational Foundation Scholarships (FPEF) (a limited on going scholarship to a key school) for undergraduate or graduate enrolled in two, four year or graduate engineering or technology related program. A minimum of 'C' grade average in power fluid courses. Graduate from high school with a 3.0 overall average. Deadline postmarked June 1st to be considered. Other scholarships with no key school are FPDA and the Ursem Memorial Fund (some specific requirements).

Girls Going Places Scholarship Award [pdf]
The Guardian Life Insurance Company awards 15 scholarships annually to girls who demonstrate entrepreneurship, are trying to become financially independent, and have made a difference in both their school and their community.
 
Hancock Women's Club
This group offers an annual $500 scholarship to an adult woman who has lived in Hancock for more than two years and has decided to begin or continue her education after some years of other responsibilities.

This foundation awards scholarships to women at least 35 years old who are enrolled in a technical/vocational training or undergraduate education program. The annual award is $1500.

National Asphalt Pavement Association
NAPA Research and Education Scholarship (a renewable up to two years) for undergraduate enrolled in two or four-year accredited college/institution in civil engineering, construction management, or construction engineering related program. Scholarship ranges between $1,000-$2,700.

Order of Women Legislators (OWLS)
This local women's club gives out an annual $1,000 scholarship to a woman of non-traditional age entering a service field. This organization can grant scholarships depending on funds available in that specific year.

National Association of Women in Construction
NAWIC Founders' Scholarship Foundation for undergraduate (there are two scholarships available-Undergraduate Scholarship and the Construction Crafts Scholarship) enrolled in two or four-year construction related program. Student must successfully complete at least one year. A minimum overall GPA of 3.00. Scholarships ranges between $500 to $2,000. Deadline postmarked February 1st to be considered.

New Hampshire Business and Professional Women
This organization sponsors three scholarships (which total over $1300) granted to New Hampshire working women who need funds for further education that will allow them to re-enter the job force after time off, retrain for new jobs, or establish themselves in another career. Recipients must be dedicated to their careers and should show persistence in their fields.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund
Each year, the fund provides five women $10,000 and 50 women $1,000 scholarships toward an undergraduate degree from an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or a vocational-technical school ($10,000 awards are restricted to applicants seeking a bachelor's degree at a four-year institution). Awards are based on financial need and preference is given to women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago.
 
The General Federation of Women Clubs, New Hampshire
The "Wings of Hope" scholarship, offered through the General Federation of Women's Clubs in New Hampshire, provides educational funding for any single parent that has left a domestic violence or crisis situation and desires to gain the educational skills necessary to obtain gainful employment.

The Miss New Hampshire Pageant
The Miss New Hampshire Pageant is the official state preliminary to the Miss America Program. The program offers scholarships at both the state and local levels.

William Bridge Scholarship
Sponsored by the Ninety-Nines, this $1,000 scholarship is available to women who have a private pilot's license and are interested in pursuing an aviation education at a New England college. The Ninety-Nines also maintain a database of other aviation and engineering-related scholarships are offered to women.

Women in Aviation offer numerous scholarships, ranging from $2,500 to $35,000, for women pursuing an education in aviation or engineering who are members of Women in Aviation International.

Women's Opportunity Awards Program
This organization offers Women's Opportunity Awards to assist women entering or reentering the workforce in obtaining the education and skills training they need to improve their employment status. Applicants must be female heads of household who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program. Recipients may use their awards for any expenses related to their educational pursuits, such as tuition, books, housing, childcare, and transportation.

Women's Sports Foundation
The Women's Sports Foundation supports the interest of women in careers in all aspects of the sport's field. Their web page includes a career center with links to colleges as well as a scholarship search and other funding possibilities for pursuing a career in athletics.

Women's Transportation Seminar Scholarships
The WTS-Boston Chapter awards a $1,500 Ann M. Hershfan Graduate Scholarship and $1,500 Jacquelyn R. Smith undergraduate scholarship to two women each year. Winners are automatically considered for the $3,000 national-level WTS Helene M. Overly Memorial Scholarship. Scholarships are for women working toward a degree in all aspects of the transportation field.

Zonta Club of the Lakes Region
At the local level, the Zonta Club of the Lakes Region offers two scholarships. One is available to non-traditional women. The second scholarship is available to the traditional graduating high school senior or student enrolled in college. Three other scholarships are also offered through Zonta International: The Amelia Earhart Fellowship, the Jane M. Klausmen Scholarship, and the scholarship for Young Women In Public Affairs.
