> Girl's Day at the State House
GIRLS’ DAY AT THE STATE HOUSE More than 50 girls, ages 11-14 from throughout New Hampshire have been invited to participate in a Girls Day at the New Hampshire State House event on Thursday April 30, 2009. This event is being co-hosted by the New Hampshire Commission on the Status of Women and the New Hampshire Women’s Lobby/Women’s Alliance with support from the Women’s Fund of New Hampshire and Business and Professional Women (BPW) chapters in New Hampshire. The girls will enjoy a tour of the State House and will be greeted by Governor Lynch, Senate President Larsen, House Speaker Norelli and others throughout the day. The participants will have an opportunity to “shadow” female legislators, and will enjoy an after-lunch performance of “Susan B. Anthony, the Invincible” by Sally Matson at St. Paul’s Church. Girls have been invited from: Girls, Inc. Concord; Boys & Girls Club- Nashua; Friends Program-Concord; Appalachian Mountain Teen Project-Carroll County; and NH members of the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains.
