Women nationally, on average, earn 78¢ for every dollar earned by men*; women in NH earn 74.8¢ for every dollar earned by men and NH ranks 39th of the 50 states in gender wage gap earnings.**

Pay equity policies can be implemented simply and without undue costs or hardship in both the public and private sectors.

Consider these remedies:
Raise the minimum wage; ensure benefits for part-time workers; enhance women-owned business opportunities; increase availability of post-secondary education loans; encourage non-traditional training and employment for women; strengthen enforcement of fair employment laws.
