Biographical Information-Niki Miller, MS, CPS
Niki Miller is the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Task Force on Women & Recovery, a grassroots organization of consumers, providers and concerned citizens dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk, addicted and recovering girls, women and families. Working throughout the state, Ms. Miller has introduced the implementation of gender responsive, trauma informed treatment for women in recovery and targeted prevention for girls. In addition to having been instrumental to the success of the Task Force on Women & Recovery, Ms. Miller also serves on the Mental Health Commission, the Governor’s Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence and the Board of Directors of New Futures.
Ms. Miller, who has specialized clinical training in eating disorder treatment methods and addictions, was formerly certified as an Addictions Professional in the State of Florida and is a Certified Prevention Specialist in the State of New Hampshire. Over the last twenty years, she has worked extensively with recovering women with trauma histories. She holds a Bachelors degree in Human Development from Eckerd College and a Masters of Science in Human Services Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College. She also received graduate training in clinical psychology from the University of South Florida. Ms. Miller is a member of the adjunct faculty at the Springfield College School of Human Services, where she teaches in both the graduate and undergraduate program. She has authored numerous papers on gender parity in prevention and recovery programming for adolescents and for women and girls in the criminal justice system. As a researcher in the field of gender specific intervention and treatment, Ms. Miller was a major contributor to the recent report on services for women presented to the Governor’s Commission on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Treatment.
