One of the most important charges of the Commission on the Status of Women is to rectify the erasure of women’s contributions and the undervaluation of women’s achievements. To that end, NHCSW each year requests the Governor issue a proclamation in honor of Women’s History Month in March and solicits nominations for an annual Women’s Recognition Award, conferred in conjunction with Women’s Equality Day (marking the day women’ got the vote) each August.
