2009 Legislative Session
(Updated February 12, 2009)

One of the Commission's most important duties is to "stimulate and encourage throughout the state the study and revision of the statutes relative to women."  To accomplish these goals, the Commission is actively engaged each legislative session in advocating for bills that will enhance opportunities and create positive change for the women of New Hampshire.

We encourage you to become part of the legislative process.  Public hearings are open to all. Dates for hearings and the full text of bills are posted at www.gencourt.state.nh.us.  If you cannot attend a hearing, you can make your views known by contacting legislators by phone, e-mail, and letter. You may also express support or opposition for a proposed bill by contacting the legislators elected from your town.  To find out who that is, visit http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/ns/whosmyleg.
