Concord, NH - Listed below are some of the items that were approved at the Governor and Council Meeting, May 21, 2008, that might be of interest to District Five constituents.

The next Governor and Council Meeting will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at The State House, Concord, NH.

DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

Authorized Bureau of Court Facilities to accept the transfer of land located at 6 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, NH, from the Town of Merrimack at no cost to the State.

DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Authorized to enter into an agreement with the Town of Amherst, NH, to complete the Baboosic Lake Phase III Expansion of Community Wastewater System Project in the amount of $144,105. Effective upon G&C approval through December 31, 2009. 100% Federal Funds.

Authorized to approve a Supplemental Loan Agreement with the Town of Troy, which lowers the Original Loan Agreement by $48,040.32 from $1,550,000 to $1,501,959.68 finalizing the loan amount used to finance the Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements. Effective upon G&C approval. 100% Loan Repayment Funds.

Authorized to award grants to the entities as detailed in letter dated April 24, 2008, for purposes of used oil collection totaling $18,910. Effective upon G&C approval through May 7, 2009. 100% Hazardous Waste Cleanup Funds.

Authorized John & Catherine Fisher’s request to construct a seasonal dock accessed by a walkway on property on the Nashua River in Nashua.

DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY

Authorized Division of Motor Vehicles to enter into an sole source License for Use of Premises with SAU #26 Merrimack School District, Merrimack, NH, to provide parking area and classroom space for the Motorcycle Rider Training Program in an amount not to exceed $22,000. Effective upon G&C approval through December 31, 2009. 100% Motorcycle Rider Training Program.

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

Authorized Bureau of Bridge Design to amend a contract with The Louis Berger Group, Incorporated, Manchester, NH, and East Orange, NJ (previously approved by G&C on 2-7-01, item #181), for completion of a Type, Size, and Location Study for replacement of the bridges carrying NH Route 119 over the Connecticut River between Hinsdale, NH and Brattleboro, VT, by extending the completion date from June 30, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

Authorized to exercise a contract renewal option with Waste Management of NH Inc., Hampton, NH, (previously approved by G&C on 6-7-06, item #207), for weekly rubbish disposal services at the Merrimack Maintenance Facility on the Central Turnpike in the amount of $6,725.16. Effective July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. 100% Turnpike Funds.

George J. Hagerty and Eliezer Rivera both of Keene, NH to the Postsecondary Education Commission.
