EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT
By Raymond S. Burton

There are some good signs for Executive Council District One currently underway or in the near future.

US Senator Shaheen has selected Mike Vlacich as her State Director of Operations. Mike came to this post with much experience after serving as the State Economic Development Director. Senator Shaheen has selected third term Lancaster State Representative, Scott Merrick as the North Country Senate Coordinator of Constituent Services. Representative Merrick is widely respected as a hard working and thoughtful public servant.

Governor Lynch has appointed Orville “Bud” Fitch, Deputy Attorney General to lead the newly created Economic Stimulus Office that will manage the federal stimulus money as it arrives in New Hampshire. Bud is well known in State government as one who will strive for compromise and move things to completion. To his credit, Governor Lynch has turned the NH department heads loose and urged them to prepare projects that are ready to build and put our citizens to work.

The NH Congressional Delegation: Senators Gregg, and Shaheen,
Congressman Hodes and Congresswoman Shea-Porter and their
staff have really leaned into this task and done very well for New Hampshire projects.

The US Senators, Republican or Democrat have little choice but to vote for this bill and get this country moving again.

Please let me know what projects are of importance to you and your region of the state.

It is a pleasure to serve you.
