EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT
By Raymond S. Burton
As the Holiday Season approaches amid our busy lives in our North Country Communities, I have stopped to think of what we can all be thankful for.
On my list of things to be thankful for are the social service networks and the volunteer organizations that provide a collective network for all citizens at some time in their life may be in need of support. Among the local charitable organizations are Rotary, Lions Clubs, Kiwanis, Masons, Grange, and the NH Charitable Fund, and all organizations that help fill the gap from time to time when government does not have the resources to help.
The freedoms we all take for granted are on my list of appreciation. When viewing the outright violence in many foreign countries, I note how blessed we are to have the military and law enforcement systems at the local, county, state and federal levels to keep us safe and secure.
Another group that we should all be thankful for are the brave American Soldiers who are recovering from injuries in various military and veterans hospitals around the world. They are in my thoughts.
It is a pleasure to serve you.
