Intern Reception
UNH President Anne Hart key notes Councilor Burton's State House Intern Reception-
Concord, NH. University of NH President Anne Hart spoke at the annual Student Intern Reception sponsored by Councilor Ray Burton on Jan 5th. She stated that there is no better way for students to learn how government, at all levels, works than an intern program such as the one that Councilor Burton has. He has had 119 college students earn academic credit -during the past 26 years in his State House office. College students from all NH colleges and many outside NH have participated in this program
Former Interns attending the reception include the first intern Scott Pollock from Plymouth State University, Bruce Berke, New England College, Lynn Brownell, PSU, Meghan McPherson, and Rory Sheehan of UNH. Other notables attending the reception included State Senate President Thomas Eaton of Keene, State Senator John Gallus of Berlin, State Representatives, Tom Buco, of Conway, James Pillord of Belmont, Scott Merrick of Lancaster, Martha McLeod, of Franconia and Larry Elliott of Hillsboro. State Capitol Trade Ass'n representatives and other government officials who attend included John Stephen, Nick Tompas, Steve Norton, Greg Moore, Charles Levesque, Barry Conway, Carol Murray, Jeff Brillhart, Peter Thomson, Joe Moncher, Rod Tenney, Lyman Cousins, Tom Clairmont, Gary Smith, Beth Campbell, Steve Taylor, Phil Bryce, Jason Stock, Doug Patch,Tim Decker, David Collins, Pam Morin, Lucy Hodder,and Henry Mock
