Mission Statement

The principal focus of the New Hampshire Board of Barbering, Cosmetology, and Esthetics is to protect the public health, safety and welfare by regulating the practices of Professional Barbers, Cosmetologists, Estheticians, Manicurists and Tanning. The Board qualifies and licenses individuals and businesses, establishes and enforces administrative rules and laws, and provides information so that the public may make informed decisions.

There will be a public hearing for rule changes relative to a 3-year 1500 hour program within a career & technical high school, licensees applying photos to their own license, and fines associated with failing to attach a photo to the license, prohibiting the use of a micro-needling device, removing specific school equipment, and advanced placement between the barber and cosmetology programs on Monday December 7, 2015 at 9:30 am in the Board's office at 121 South Fruit St Concord NH 03301


NOTIFICATION TO ALL TANNING FACILITIES: As of August 1, 2015, tanning facilities are prohibited from tanning persons under the age of 18. Certified Operators shall obtain proof of age from each person using a tanning device. Notification Letter
