The principal focus of the New Hampshire Board of Barbering, Cosmetology, and Esthetics is to protect the public health, safety and welfare by regulating the practices of Professional Barbers, Cosmetologists, Estheticians, Manicurists and Tanning. The Board qualifies and licenses individuals and businesses, establishes and enforces administrative rules and laws, and provides information so that the public may make informed decisions.
NOTIFICATION TO ALL ESTHETICIANS: As of March 14, 2016, estheticians are not allowed to perform microneedling/dermarolling services. The Board has determined that these services are not within the scope of practice for estheticians.
NOTIFICATION TO ALL TANNING FACILITIES: As of August 1, 2015, tanning facilities are prohibited from tanning persons under the age of 18. Certified Operators shall obtain proof of age from each person using a tanning device. Notification Letter
