Attention: Firms who’s Foreign Accountants Practice Permit is due to expire June 30, 2009.

June 18, 2009

As of this date the Board has not received confirmation that HB 256 is completely through the legislative process. We expect completion any day.  Please check this site for updates.  Upon final signature of the legislation the Board will immediately place on line the forms and instructions needed to comply with the registration of your firm. We will give firms time to comply with this new legislation.

The New Hampshire Board of Accountancy is currently in the process of adopting new legislation which will implement “Mobility” and may effect your registration requirements.  For information on House Bill 256 please click on “Mobility Information” on the right hand side of this website under Quick Links.  After clicking on “Mobility Information” you will come to a “Mobility” website, scroll down and click on New Hampshire, and type in HB256 under Quick Bill Search.

This will give you the current version of the changes to our statute which may effect your registration requirements. We will be updating this message on the new requirements for registration as soon as the bill is signed by the Governor, which we expect within the next two weeks. Please do not renew at this time but wait for further instructions.

Notice to Licensees Renewing

ATTENTION CPA’S RENEWING THEIR LICENSES (G-M) TO PRACTICE AS A CPA

We are still waiting for confirmation that HB 256 has been signed, which would allow CPA’s 60 days to renew their individual license to practice as a CPA for the State of New Hampshire. However in light of the anticipated signing we will allow you 60 days to renew your license to practice.  NOTE:  You still must earn your CPE by June 30, 2009 but you will have 60 days from June 30, 2009 to submit the actual renewal.

1) We have noted that there was an error on the renewal notice you were sent.  Your CPE must be earned between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2009, not June 30, 2008 as stated in the notice. We apologize for this error.

2)  When filing out your address’s please do not just write in “Same” for your mailing address if it is the same as the business or home address because when we upload your renewal information the word "Same" will appear on our database as your mailing address.

3) When you get to the part of the renewal for your payment option, and you choose to pay by credit card, please do not click the “Submit” button more than once or you may be charged twice. If this should happen, please contact us when you get your monthly statement and we will credit your card.

4) Please do not forget to enter the number of hours you have earned for Ethics in the line just for ethics and also please make sure you enter the date or dates you earned ethics.

5)  Also, please remember that if you are chosen for audit of your CPE you will have to provide proper documentation for each and every course you are claiming.
